4The real deal  Jan 08, 2012

Vacuum cleaner belts aren't expensive, but they can be hard to find. If you are going to get replacement belts, it pays to get the genuine Panasonic ones. You won't save enough on a generic one to make it worth the risk. A generic one may work fine, but why bother?

These genuine Panasonic belts come in a two pack, and one belt should last a long time. When you install this belt, you should notice that it's many inches smaller than a stretched out belt you may be replacing. A new belt will allow your vacuum cleaner to brush better and clean better. It's good to have a spare in case somebody vacuums up a small item that jams the roller and burns up the belt. If you find after a few years that your machine is under-performing even with a new bag, it might be time to change the belt anyway. At under a dollar a year on average, a belt change could be money well spent.

These come in a factory sealed plastic bag with the instructions printed on it. Some reviewers have commented that they did not get the genuine article described, but keep in mind that there could be dozens of sellers, and all are required by Amazon to send the exact item described, which is the one in the pictures I added. Most third party sellers are honest and will send you the exact item that Amazon would send you, so buying from a third party should not be a risk. But if you have Prime, getting belts at Amazon's price will be a bargain even if you need the belts right away.

5great price and quick delivery  Mar 31, 2009

Once again Amazon came through with a great price and quick delivery. The price was half of what I would have paid locally plus no sales tax and free delivery.

5I've got carpeting throughout my house  Jan 21, 2007

I've only had to replace this product once in the past three years. It holds up well, and the only reason it wore out this time is because my sister didn't notice when she sucked up a sock into the intake. I will say that it is a horrible smell when it melts. All in all, though, it is easy to install and a tremendous bargain compared to some products.

3Not Genuine Panasonic  Mar 22, 2012
By Tristanicus
The belts I ordered from one of the merchants have the right price but are not branded as Panasonic; the name Flexaust is printed on them. I replaced the belt for my Panasonic upright and it fit just fine. Is it as durable as those from Panasonic? That I can't say but it's a pretty tight and thick rubber band. They also don't come with installation instructions as stated (a good thing since I still have the manual). I'm not particularly about getting a Panasonic-branded vacuum belt (it's a rubber belt after all) and I would be totally fine with getting a generic substitute if it's stated upfront. If I decide to buy products with no packaging and look like after-market substitutes, I expect the information to be disclosed by the seller so I can make the decision. It's called transparency and honest business practices, something everyone (including merchants) should value highly but unfortunately not often enough.
