High quality compact cordless screwdriver Feb 02, 2006

For 15 years I used a cordless screwdriver originally made by AEG and nearly identical to this Panasonic. The nicest feature for me is the compact design that fits into tight spaces other cordless driver will not. I use mine mainly for computer assembly. Swivel the handle to a pistol grip and the Panasonic is even more compact as well as comfortable.
Battery life is adequate. Because the Panasonic is nice and compact, the battery discharges somewhat sooner than other drivers with large hunk of battery. I recommend an extra battery if you plan to use it for work.
The forward/reverse switch is actuated with your right thumb. At first use it feels strange but it turns out they know what they're doing. The switch allows instantaneous forward to reverse switching. I think once you get used to it you will come to appreciate it. If you are left-handed it can still be actuated with your left index finger.
I think the Milwaukee 6547-22 2.4-Volt 2-Speed Cordless Screwdriver is nearly identical and even better than the Panasonic for not much more money.

I've been buying these forever... Aug 18, 2011
By Penname1953 I love these Panasonic screwdrivers. But be careful when you order to order the screwdriver with the charger. Absolutely look at the content of the webpage you are buying from....even make a copy of it to save to your desktop. I ordered just the screwdriver thinking I was ordering the full set and when it arrived with no charger or screwdriver bits I was VERY mad. My wrong! The vendor made it right by selling me a full price charger which contained the bits (as it always had). What appeared to be an exceptional deal became an expensive lesson in reading before buying.
The guy who left a phone message seemed very conciliatory about making it right and I hoped that meant 'we will convert it to the two piece deal'. He said he would follow it up with an email. Unfortunately, his 'assistant' followed it up and her tone was more toward the thing obviously was my fault; it was, I knew it, she knew it, but after the nice guy, I hated having it once again rammed down my throat. O.K. score 9.5 for Panasonic screwdriver, 4.5 for what I ultimately had to pay, 9.5 for the nice guys response and 4.5 for his assistant.
Panasonic EY503B cordless driver Apr 10, 2011
By Dave This is the 3rd Panasonic cordless driver I bought. I like it because it is light, compact but powerful; moreover, the price is affordable, compared with other brands.

I'm a professional service tech and have used this product everyday for many years. It is the very best available. Compact, rugged, with a long lasting battery. The gears lock up when off and can be used as a manual screwdriver when extra force is needed.
