The most draining process when using the GF1 is when you transfer photos/videos to your computer; especially if you have a TON of pictures. This is super helpful in this situation. Also, if you're shooting a video that takes a really long time, you can use this as a battery replacement as long as you have an outlet available.

This is the genuine Panasonic accessory. I bought this so I could do long timelapse photography using an automated timer. Haven't used it much yet, but it is nice quality and a good value.
