The right part Nov 09, 2011
By BRIAN R MCLEAN If you happen to rip the cable jack of the back of you panasonic tv, this is probably the part you need. If you don't own a soldering iron, you are definately in over your head on installing it. To install it you have to remove the TV case, then remove the circuit board from the tv, which is a few ribon cables and a few screws and a delicate slide.
This one appears to be as good as the original. Any difference in signal attenuation is negligable. All tuner functionality is still there.
I had to unsolder the 4 mounting pins and about 20 signal pins. First pass it didn't work, so I had my test engineer father inspect and he found 4 solder bridges. After cleaning up those few solders, it was as good as new. It was delicate work, because there are a bunch of pieces that can't take a ton of heat. This is a few steps above tinning wire. If you have ever done power chips on an amplifier you can do it.
