 Don't Buy if you live in Arizona Aug 03, 2011

Overpriced. Originally bought because it was suppose to handle the heat better (not true). Bought it June 2008 had to replace it May 2010 (less than 2 years). The replacement just died on me Aug 2011 so the replacement only lasted 14 months.

Having made the mistake of purchasing a regular non-sealed battery replacement for my Delco freedom and suffering the corrosion boilover problems because of it, I finally wised up and bought the optima because it is also a sealed battery design and therefore no corrosion problems. So far so good, but now if it lasts over 9 years I will put the optima in the same league as my two past Delco freedom batteries.

"Unrecoverable Gadget Freak"
Bought this in 8/11. This week I started having trouble starting up and having to tend the battery every night. Amazon has agreed to send me a replacement. Props to Amazon but I'll keep having to exchange this if I have to. Terrible product. Stick w/ a diehard platinum.

Warranty service a struggle. battery was defective Jan 25, 2012

Please be aware if you purchase this battery on-line, the warranty service is a real problem. would suggest you pay the premium and buy from auto parts store, so you can return it there if there is a warranty issue.
edit update. I had to take the battery to an Interstate Battery service center(they manufactured my battery). this was after advanced auto store told me battery was bad. the Interstate battery service center said that advanced auto didn't know how to test and charge this battery. left battery with Interstate for a couple of days. they had charged battery and said it was fine. reinstalled in my car, and after setting for less than a week, car wouldn't turn over.
I then bought one of advanced auto stores equivalent battery to the optima, actually had better specs. installed battery and three months later, works excellent, even after sitting in car for two weeks without being started.
so I'm out the $160 I paid for the optima battery, plus a lot of wasted time. I'm convinced the optima battery I had was defective. the warranty is almost worthless when buying on line.

Best price to be found anywhere with free shipping! Careful packing and fast shipping! Capacity of the batteries is excellent. My truck uses Two batters, the combined power of the the two new Optima batteries was equal to three of my old conventional batteries. The included appropriate battery hold down adaptors that came with the batteries were the correct ones for my application, so the replacement of the batteries was a snap, no problems at all.
