Great Dry Cell Battery Mar 06, 2010
By Bill What you'll get is a great dry cell with plenty of small-motor cranking amps in a small package. I use this in my Mitsubishi Evo (2 litre turbocharged four cylinder) to pull weight out of the front of the car. Weight savings are on the order of 12-15 lbs over the OEM wet battery. The performance on this battery over the last 3 years has been flawless. I live in Southern California so the weather never gets really cold...YMMV. It always pumps plenty of starting amps when I turn the motor over. I've been very pleased with this item. The battery in the car now is starting to lose cranking power, but it's a graceful degradation. So it's time for a new one. I'll keep coming back to these batteries for this application.
Superb battery for its size Jul 09, 2011
By S. Dang This battery was purchased as a weight savings measure on my Lotus. It gave me the exact same cranking amps needed for my car, while shaving 17lbs off my car. The battery is well suited for small cars like Lotuses. Some modification to the battery holder would be needed though, since this isn't a big battery.
Anyway, the battery will start to get below 12V after 3 days without driving the car.. So if your car is not a daily driver, I recommend not using this, as you will damage the battery by letting it discharge too much.. Alternatively, you could hook it up to a switch to prevent the car from discharging it while unused.. Self-discharge is really slow, which is good. I had the battery sitting in my apartment for almost 3 months before I installed it, and it still measured 12.4v on my battery tester.
