Great deal, but may require "adjustments" to fit right Jun 16, 2011
By itsnorm How could you pass up a deal like this? THe price is a fraction of what you'd pay at Sears and these things can be rinsed clean! So far, so good: With a dirty filter, my Kenmore Progressive Bagless vacuum cleaner (the purple one) would make a horrendous noise as some sort of bypass valve was activated. With a clean filter, things are back to normal and the suction is stronger once again. Good filter, great price!
However, before you buy this, you should know that it didn't quite fit right for my Kenmore vacuum. I had to "shave off" some of the teeth in order for it to slide onto the grooves in the vacuum cleaner. It's hard to describe in words (I wish I took a before and after photo), but I'll do my best: If you look at the top of the filter, you will see four "teeth" that slide into the vaccum's grooves. The teeth are a lot more rectangular than they should be, so when you try to twist it in place, the rectanhular teeth just but up against the grooves. I nearly twisted the filter to death trying to get it to lock in place. Anyway, the teeth should actually be sloped smaller near the end so it'll be easier to start the twisting motion. You may need to use a box-cutter style razor to taper each of the four teeth to a smaller size at the end. I used whatever was convenient for me... a small woodworking chisel... and tapered the teeth down at the end. Then, I was able to twist & lock the filter in place. (If people complain about the filter falling off, that's because they probably didn't get the filter to lock in place.) I'm not sure I'll ever be able to remove the filter, but I'm hopeful it won't be too hard. :)
So please recognize that this is an aftermarket filter that might not fit quite right, but if you're willing to spend a little time adjusting the teeth, you'll have saved a lot of money.

Doesn't Fit Dec 08, 2011
By Cheryl Kurz
"Truth Be Told"
This Generic type DCF-1/DCF-2 HEPA filter does NOT fit Kenmore Quick Clean bagless vacuums (model Number 216.37000700 even though advertisement states otherwise. Filter is 1/4" too small to fit over filter housing.

Product works for me!!! Aug 18, 2011
By Wolfe I found this product to be about half the price of non-washable filter sold in box stores. I have the older style vacuum that doesn't need the cap on the end but the cap was included with the purchase of this filter for those that require the cap. Just needed to use a little more force to put the filter on, as the foam is just abit thicker which to me means better seal. I am very pleased with this item I purchased.

Perfect Fit and Job with the Kenmore HEPA Bagless May 28, 2011
By V. Hoyt We have the Kenmore Bagless and used this as the DCF-2. It fits snugly, perfectly, and we've had no problems with it falling off. We bought two to have them available during the washing/drying. Make sure they dry completely. They work just as good after washing as before. We love them. They're a little more eco-friendly by being washable and they're very money conservative that way. :)

Works and fits just like original Jan 11, 2011
By okiedan This is great. Cheaper that a throw away model Sears sells. It fits the Kenmore perfect. Just like the original it falls off if you do not properly tighten it after cleaning. A great deal.
