Excellent! Mar 20, 2011
By pjsunshine I have used this cheap no-name battery for my Nikon D50 for a couple years now and have not had any problems. It's really nice to have an extra battery to just switch out when ever you need it.

So far so good Mar 10, 2009
By SMXSteve For the price this is a super deal, especially for a backup battery. I have had it since December and it still works great. Considering the price for others I could buy one a year for at least 7 years and still come out ahead. That's better then rechargeable AAs.

Good for the money Oct 21, 2008
By Gregory Hartman For the price, this battery works very well. It doesnt last as long as my Nikon branded battery, but for the price you can buy at least 5 of these before you buy 1 Nikon one. Still, one of these generally last a whole day of shooting.

It's just wrong. The Chinese made it wrong. May 14, 2010
By L. limited Co What's the ...too good to be true - thing again?. I think from now on I'm avoiding anything that has higher shipping costs than the cost of the item except for used media & books. The item looks like an EL3 but wait! The contacts on the battery are way too spread apart. Thus they don't meet the contacts in the camera or the charger. I held it up to a Nikon EL-3 and sure enough the center contact is a good 1/4" too far toward the middle. Also, it is slightly larger and the grooves on the side that hold it into the charger are shallower. This may be the reason reviewer Todd Decker was having to pry it out of his camera.
Thus I'm returning it.
But wait. Hopefully, I'll get $5.96 back and I'm out $2.98 shipping on the delivery and $3.45 shipping for the return. So I'm out .47 cents to learn that it was made wrong. It arrived first class $1.56 w/ certificate of mailing $1.15 = $2.71 - they charged $2.98 so they keep .16 cents per unit. That might not sound like much, but let's say you move 10,000 units @ .16/per - you're looking at $1600 for nothing. Then add to that those people who don't return it because they're out less than $10 anyway - man, that's decent money. Then just keep churning those returned units out to customers?!? ...somebody's making some money!
You might want to try a different EL-3 than this.

Didn't Work in my D90 Oct 05, 2008
By Todd Decker I recently purchased the Nikon D90 and then since these batteries were so well priced, I bought two of them to have as back up batteries.
I charged them up but they didn't work in my new Nikon. First, there is a notch in the top of the battery that isn't quite large enough when compared to the Nikon battery so this battery fits too snugly and must be pried out with tool like a small screw driver.
Also the camera reported the battery as lacking any charge and wouldn't power up. The battery that came with my Nikon had three terminals, whereas this battery only had two terminals which I suspect probably has something to do with why the battery didn't work.
