 Dewalt Coffee Break Charger Oct 26, 2000
This charger is great! I have several 14.4v cordless Dewalt tools-some with 5 year-old batteries. These of course have lost some of their charge capacity. It is frustrating waiting for the standard hour-long recharge when I use the batteries faster than they can be charged. The 9117 helps me stay busy-at least I have to find another excuse for slacking. The 3-stage charging aspect of rejuvenation (overnight charging) yielded a noticeable increase in power for 2 of my older batteries. Since batteries are about $54 each, increasing their life expectancy appeals to my wallet. If you have 2 or more tools going at the same time (drill, screw-gun, saw) this charger will ensure your job keeps going!

 No Tune Up Feature In this Charger. Oct 25, 2000
This is an excelent choice for the contractor or DIY that uses cordless tools all the time. If you need to get your tool powered back up fast, this one will do it on your coffee break or while using a spare battery. The only drawback: For the steep price, I would also expect to see a tune up feature included with this charger as is in the DW9116. Still, time is money and 15 min charges translate into "0" time wasted if you also have at least 1 spare battery.

Now being told by DeWalt that this charger is not intended for lithium-ion batteries. In the process of checking this out as it will greatly affect capabilities of charging my lithium batteries.

I have several dewalt tools, drills, circular saws, demo saws etc. They sit around most of the time until I finally need to use one. But, when I need one, I want it to work. If you're like me, then it takes an hour to charge a battery (most of mine lose power sitting in the case). Well that all changed when I got this 15 minute charger. If you have a portable tool (most of mine are 18 volt) with more than one battery, this charger is a must. The nice thing is about the time one battery runs down, another is ready to roll. If Dewalt wanted to really be a great tool company, they'd get rid of the hour chargers and only have the 15 minute ones. Well worth the money in fact I'm ordering a second one.

This product was required before Christmas (December 25, 2006)...
It was shipped really late...
Although the product is good, otherwise I would not have ordered it...
I was not happy with the shipping, availability...and the notification..
