1 st Step : Charge the Battery - Duh! Nov 12, 2007

Understand battery technology before you dismiss a good product. Nickel cadmium and Nickel Metal Hydride rechargeable batteries Out of the package you are supposed to charge. the energy depletes after time of non usage - This applies to all Rechargeable batteries. it is recommended that you store them on a full charge. Nickel Metal Hydride doesn't suffer from the effects that Nickel Cadmium does - Nickel Cadmium has a Memory effect, so you have to deplete them as far as possible before recharging. Nickel metal Hydride doesn't suffer from such effects - so if though the day you only used half the power and tomorrow is a full day; go ahead and charge the battery even though it is at its halfway mark. The full battery will be available. This is a 100% well working Nickel Metal Hydride rechargeable battery and because of a misinformed user I gave it a full rating which is what it deserves. I hope I helped some with their selection today. Thank you.

When I received this new battery, in its original packaging, it was nearly dead. Apparently, old stock is not rotated at this vendor and the shelf life of this product had elapsed.
