Comes with Charger Jun 15, 2010

I just wanted to say that this battery does come with an extra charger. It was kinda hidden in the box, I would not have noticed it if I didn't break down the box for recycling. It was tucked under a flap in the bottom of the box. The description didn't say it came with a charger so I was happy to have found it. Now I can charge both batteries at the same time.

keeping the lawn mower running twice as long Jul 11, 2010
By W. Rush We have a large proprety and it takes several hours to mow the property. The lawn mower with the origional battery does not last long enough to cut all of the grass. With the second battery and the additional battery charger I can mow twice as much before the batteries run out of go juice. I can keep both of the batteries ready to go with the charger that came with the second battery making the mowing process so much better. Fantastic having the second battery definately reccomend the battery and charger.

What can I say, it's a battery Jun 05, 2010
By M. L. Yancey
"little bit"
Wish I had this in march, would have been nice. This is my second battery, first works so good had to have another. I need it so I can cut my 1/3 acre lot in one day. charge last a while 1 to 1 1/2 hours. I'm old & slow need more time to cut. I cut the front yard, recharge overnight, cut back yard next day. Sorry to see amazon no longer offers this item, had to use third party seller thru amazon. THIS IS FOR YOU.

Impressive Product Apr 25, 2011
By Ray A. Hill OTHER EQUIPMENT: Battery, Blade
PROS: Design Battery Operated Light Weight Ease of Operation Quiet Operation Lack of Pollution
CONS: Battery Life Grass Trail Cutting Width Lack of Etching for Height Adjustment
REPORT: This unit was purchased as a replacement for my 22" gas powered mower. In addition to the mower I purchased an extra battery and blade. I decided to go with an electric model as a cost-cutting measure and for its simpler operation. The mower was easy to assemble. Open the box, flip and tighten the handle, set your cutting height and charge the battery. The battery is pre-installed. I let it charge for 24-hours before using the mower. The only required assembly was for the grass catcher. This involved a simple pull-and-snap exercise. Since there is no gas or oil to deal with, maintenance is simplified and only requires a gentle washing after use.
I have used the mower for three lawn cuttings. I was able to cut 1-1/4 of my yard (~100x150 ft.) before the battery became too weak to continue. A quick change of the battery and I was back in business. It's interesting that the battery lasted almost as long as my gas-powered mower (cuts ~1-3/4 before requiring fuel). So, I did not lose much in distance here. I simply change the battery before starting to cut the rear yard just like I refuel my gas mower. Your performance will vary, especially if your lawn is dense (I don't recommend its use if you have a dense lawn). I have not used the grass catcher as I prefer to mulch.
Another plus is that I did not have to wear my ear plugs because the mower is relatively quiet. Since I like to listen to music, this is a big plus because it saves my hearing from possible damage. There is also no carbon monoxide to worry about. This is great for safety and any allergy sufferer. The mowers light weight saves on any stress to the back or other body parts.
The cutting height adjustment is a simple act of squeezing the grip on the right-rear side of the mower and raising/lowering to the desired height. I wish the height adjustment labeling was more visible and permanent. There is a stick-on label that I don't believe will last very long. A permanent etching would be better.
I am pleased with this product however I would like to see the following improvements/enhancements from Black & Decker:
1) Longer Battery Life (Lithium-Ion?) 2) More Torque 3) Wider Cutting Coverage (22") 4) Better etching and detents for height adjustment 5) Better Mulching Ability

A little insurance Nov 04, 2010
By Danny Ray I felt compelled to buy this extra battery. I have had no problem with the original battery having enough juice to complete my yard (which is 1/3 acre) - I just wanted to prolong the useful life of the mower by having a spare.
