Junk on Dilevery Jun 14, 2010 Same as product I wanted to replace, Junk. Did not work on arrival and made cheap. Also Black and Decker discontiuned the model. They make a good tool and put a cheap charger with it. When you can't get a working charger and they discontinue the model and they control the Hedge Hog market, guess what. You have to buy the new model that cost more or do without, so sad...
A rep contacted me and ask what he could do. I apprecieate that, but I had already gotten rid of the old charger, new charger, and battery. With that said, I don't think them giving me another new charger would help. All I wanted was what I paid for without any problems!
Piece of Junk Feb 14, 2010 Do yourself a favour and buy the DeWalt DC9310 Heavy-Duty 7.2 Volt - 18 Volt 1 Hour Charger instead. It charges both the Black & Decker PS140 (14.4V) and PS130 (12V) Firestorm batteries.
I've wasted money on 3 of these Black & Decker chargers and that doesn't include a free replacement on the charger that came with the set and stopped working on the second day. I thought I was doing something wrong all of this time - leaving the batteries charging too long and cooking the charger - until I read the reviews here. Seems like everyone has the same problem. Black & Decker should be ashamed of themselves and I will never buy one of their tools again - Rigid, Ryobi or DeWalt for me in future.
My 14.4V Firestorm set has been sitting in the basement collecting dust until my wife said she was going to throw them out and I thought I'd have one last go at salvaging it (as it cost about $200 when new). As I couldn't find the charger or batteries in the stores, I started looking on line and found that Black & Decker doesn't even support these models anymore (thanks for nothing, B&D !!) With the help of other reviews on Amazon, I eventually found (and bought) the DeWalt DC9310 charger and it's the best $30 I've spend in ages. Not only does it fit and fully charge the 14.4V Firestorm batteries, it fits and charges the 12V Firestorms as well.
Thank you, DeWalt. Thank you, Amazon reviewers. And stuff you, Black & Decker.
Black and Decker PS180 Feb 03, 2010 The item is what i expected. I could not find it anywhere. Great find and great seller.
Great Deal!!! Feb 02, 2010 Item was a perfect match..replacement charger for my B&D drill! Recieved promptly, and well packaged! Was priced at less than half price from even the cheapest of parts retailers. Will def recommend this seller!

This is not the charger to buy. Dec 04, 2009 The PS180 is a waste of money. It's just cheap junk. WHY they even make such junk is beyond me.
Buy something much better like the DeWalt DW9116 or DW9310 charger (I already had two of them). The DW9310 is the best choice. These chargers can charge Firestorm batteries, 7.2 volt up to 18 volt.
I did not realize the Firestorm 14.4 volt batteries would fit in the DeWalt charger, but thanks to a previous reviewer, this is what I am now doing. So, as it turns out I didn't have to buy a new charger, and I did not need new batteries (I thought the batteries were done, but they charged up fine). I believe almost any battery that fits in the charger and is rated 7.2 to 18 volts will charge fine.
PS NEVER EVER EVER leave a battery in a charger if the charger is not powered. This will drain your battery completely and probably KILL it! I've had this happen with the 9116 charger.
