The product worked great till it quit. It said to check the battery before use.
I contacted the factory rep. at DeWalt & he told me that there is no way I could check the battery at home. They would need to do that there. He said that if your battery is 5 years old, replace them before using the new charger.
The old battery will draw so much engery that it will cause the charger to overheat and burn out & that is what happened to the new one & my old one.

Charger is great; does what it is supposed to do all the time. Unfortunately, B&D has stopped making these batteries (they were a Home Depot ONLY special). WTFO? How are we supposed to know that?

I am very happy with the Black and Decker charger for my 13volt drill. It charged both batteries fine and saved me from throwing this fine drill away. One battery was totally dead and the other half dead.

I was very happy with this charger, that could no longer be purchased in the store. Works great, saving me from having to throw this one away, and purchase a new one.
